DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Police in the Twin Ports are looking for a couple accused of shoplifting at Walmart, stealing a city utility truck and leading officers on a chase.
Duluth police say the man and woman shoplifted clothing from a Walmart store in Hermantown Monday afternoon. When officers tried to pull over the suspects' Cadillac, they fled and headed down Interstate 35 into Superior, Wis.
A short time later, police say the two hijacked a Superior utility truck and led officers on a chase, striking numerous vehicles as they fled. One witness says that he counted 18 police squads following the truck.
Officers found the truck unoccupied near Memorial Park. Duluth police said Tuesday the investigation into the suspects' identities is progressing.
