UPDATE w/AUDIO: Armed Robbery And Assault In South Fargo

Two suspects are being sought in a mugging and assault in a south Fargo residential neighborhood.

Two suspects are being sought in a mugging and assault in a south Fargo residential neighborhood last night around 9:30 p.m. It happened near the intersection of 14 1/2 Street and 15th Avenue.

Lt. Joel Vettel says the two approached the 29-year-old male victim and demanded his money. The victim struggled with the two until one of the robbers pulled a gun. The man was then kicked in the face before the two fled with his wallet.

Police arrived on the scene as the suspects were still standing over the victim and quickly gave chase. The two managed to give police the slip.

Police were able to recover a weapon believed to have been used in the robbery. It turned out to be a BB gun.

Investigators have not been able to determine if the assault and robbery were random or if the three had some connection.
