It may be hard to imagine as parts of the region bake in severe to moderate drought conditions, but it does not appear we're done with the wet cycle yet.

That's according to Climate Forecaster Mark Ewens of the National Weather Service in Grand Forks.

Ewens says its only speculation but he bases his information on historical trends.

Ewens also says that he doesn't see an end to the dry phase for the next 12 to 18 months, but changing weather patterns in the pacific could bring enough rain this fall to replenish depleted soil moisture.
