There is a departure ceremony Wednesday for more than 120 soldiers from the 257th Military Police Company of the Minnesota National Guard.
The Monticello-based company leaves for training May 28th before heading to Afghanistan for one year.
"The main focus is to train and coach and mentor the Afghan National Army," said Captain Troy Hyland. "We're going over there to assist them in doing their jobs."
Hyland said the ceremony will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Monticello High School Auditorium.
