Courts Plus Remodeling Underway

The Fargo Park District is beginning a $4 million remodeling project at Courts Plus Fitness Center. The remodel will result in a number of upgrades and improvements to the decades-old building.

The Fargo Park District is beginning a $4 million remodeling project at Courts Plus Fitness Center. The remodel will result in a number of upgrades and improvements to the decades-old building.

Park Commissioner Joe Deutsch came up with the idea for an indoor playground.

"I talked to the staff at the park district and said this is something we need to press forward with," said Deutsch. "We looked at different venues in the city, and due to the size, cost factors and the amount of time in the year that it’s really going to be used, we couldn't find a good fit."

Community rooms, more exercise space, a juice bar and new pro shop are part of the project.

Work should complete in January 2013.

Courts Plus, located on South University Drive, opened as a private tennis club in the early 1970s.
