Residents opposed to an expansion at the Farmer's Co-op Elevator in Mayville say they're being threatened by people who represent the Co-op's Board of Directors.

The residents are concerned that expanding the facility will cause additional pollution. Fargo Attorney Craig Richie tells KFGO News his clients are being told to support the elevator's expansion, or risk the consequences.

Richie says, “It has been reported to us, that there are members of the board and/or representatives of the elevator who have gone to various businesses in town and have told them that they will lose business, and they are going to be in trouble economically if they support the people who are in favor of the clean air.”

Richard Moen, the Elevator's Board of Directors President states, “Whatever is out there, this is not coming from the Board of Directors. I don’t know the full circumstances of the incident… It’s somewhat disappointing.”

Moen says "a lot of emotions are involved" in the elevator dispute. But Moen says he was under the impression that many of the disagreements have been resolved.
