A longtime Fargo-based bank is getting a new identity. Beginning in September, State Bank and Trust will be known as Bell State Bank.
President Michael Solberg said the name was adapted from Bell Mortgage of Minneapolis, which was acquired by State Bank in 2011.
"We will keep our logo, which is so well known in our region, and it will be paired with a name that allows us to create a unique identity going forward into new communities, new lines of business and new opportunities," said Solberg. "There isn't another Bell State Bank in the nation. Most importantly, although this is a major change, it doesn't change who we are, what we do or where we are going."
The new name will take effect September 23rd.
Solberg calls the name change a huge project which will require everything from new signs to stationery.
State Bank and Trust was founded in 1966. It is the largest independent bank in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota.
