Target Field appears to be the front-runner to host the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star game.
Twins officials are working on the bid process and discussions continue, but nothing has been made official yet. Team president Dave St. Peter says the All-Star game would have a huge economic impact on the city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County and the state of Minnesota.
St. Peter says he remains hopeful that the Twins will be awarded the All-Star game in two years. It was announced in May that New York’s Citi Field will host next year's "midsummer classic."
