Authorities say it was a former Grand Forks man who allegedly killed his girlfriend, then himself after stealing a plane.
The incident happened in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Brian Hedglin, who was a pilot, scaled a razor wire fence, and then boarded a Skywest jet while the airport was closed. He was able to drive the plane past a terminal building, but ended up clipping the wing, and crashed into some cars in a parking lot.
A police officer found Hedglin dead inside the plane with a gunshot wound to his head.
He is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend last Friday.
Hedglin lived in Grand Forks from 1990 to 1994.
