MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Rebekkah Brunson and Seimone Augustus scored 16 points each as the Minnesota Lynx broke open a close game in the second half and beat the Phoenix Mercury 96-80 on Wednesday night.

Maya Moore had 15 points and Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 13 to help Minnesota became just the second team in WNBA history to start a season 13-1, joining the Houston Comets who began the 1998 season 20-1.

DeWanna Bonner scored 23 points and rookie Samantha Prahalis added 20 to lead the Mercury (3-9) in the opener of their season-high four-game road trip. Prahalis had to leave the game briefly in the third quarter due to bleeding from a left leg injury.

Phoenix stayed within double digits through the first three quarters until Minnesota pulled away in the fourth.
