NDSU's Amy Anderson Named Summit League Golfer Of The Year

North Dakota State's Amy Anderson was named the Summit League Women's Golfer of the Year for a league-record third straight season Wednesday, June 13, by a vote of the league's 10 head coaches.

 

 

 

 

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State's Amy Anderson was named the Summit League Women's Golfer of the Year for a league-record third straight season Wednesday, June 13, by a vote of the league's 10 head coaches.

Anderson, a junior from Oxbow, N.D., led The Summit League and broke the NDSU scoring record for the third straight season with a 73.04 average. She won her second straight Summit League championship and played in her third straight NCAA regional.

Anderson tied for 16th place at the NCAA West Regional, was selected to the Capital One Academic All-America first team in the Division I women's at-large voting by the College Sports Information Directors of America, and recently competed for the United States in the Curtis Cup.

Anderson won five tournaments for the third straight year, set an NDSU record with a low round of 66 at the Jackrabbit Invitational, and finished fourth or higher in her first 10 competitions before the NCAA regional.

She shot a 54-hole score of 218 at the Summit League championship and helped NDSU to its best finish in program history at a conference tournament, falling four shots back of Oral Roberts in second place.

IUPUI's Michael Davan was named the Men's Golfer of the Year. He won the Summit League championship and two other tournaments, and led the league in scoring with a 72.61 average with a low round of 64 at the league championship.
