Crystal Sugar Workers Complete Caravan With Rally

Nearly 100 people gathered at a rally in Moorhead Wednesday afternoon to give support for American Crystal Sugar workers engaged in a 10-month lockout.

 

 

 

 

Nearly 100 people gathered at a rally in Moorhead Wednesday afternoon to give support for American Crystal Sugar workers engaged in a 10-month lockout.

The union workers had completed a 200-mile caravan earlier Wednesday to draw attention to an upcoming negotiating session with American Crystal. The two sides are set to resume talks on Friday after the union asked a federal mediator to call the meeting.

It has been more than than four months than the two sides last met. The lockout effects nearly 1,300 union workers at Crystal sugar beet processing plants in three states.
