FARGO - Three miles of downtown Fargo and Moorhead were shut down to vehicles yesterday.
"Streets Alive!” reserved parts of downtown for bikers, rollerbladers, or any other form of non-vehicle traffic to get people off the couch and get them moving.
Amanda Bagne of Moorhead was among those taking part with her family. “Usually there’s a lot of traffic so obviously we don’t come biking down here a lot.” Bagne says.
There was plenty of music and other entertainment.
The NDSU pole vault team was there giving people a chance to see what their sport is all about.
"Streets Alive!" is part of the Cass-Clay healthy people initiative. Another event is set for august 26th.
