A 19-year-old player for the North Dakota State College of Science men's basketball team has died in a shooting in Lafayette, La.

 

 

 

 

A 19-year-old player for the North Dakota State College of Science men's basketball team has died in a shooting in Lafayette, La.

Frederick Joseph was shot early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant.

A police spokesman said investigators do not believe Joseph was the intended victim. He was shot in the back.

Joseph, who was from nearby New Iberia, La., played in all of Wahpeton's games last season and was planning to return as a sophomore.

Two others were wounded in the shooting. No arrests have been made.
