MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A man accused of killing a 19-year-old Minot woman last year now stands accused of also killing her mother, brother and mother's boyfriend.
Twenty-seven-year-old Omar Mohamed Kalmio had faced one count of murder in the death of 19-year-old Sabrina Zephier on Jan. 28, 2011. His trial was to begin June 4 but was canceled when the three additional murder charges were filed.
Kalmio is now charged in the deaths of 38-year-old Jolene Zephier and her 22-year-old boyfriend, Jeremy Longie, and 13-year-old Dylan Zephier. The killings happened at two residences on the same day.
Officials say Kalmio is father to an infant found alive in Sabrina Zephier's home.
The Zephiers were members of South Dakota's Yankton Sioux Tribe.
Kalmio is due in court for a preliminary hearing on June 19.
