Keith Dickhudt has been named an assistant coach for the NDSU women's basketball team.
FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State University head women’s basketball coach Carolyn DeHoff today announced Keith Dickhudt has been named assistant coach. Dickhudt has served as the women’s basketball director of operations since May 2011.
"Keith did a remarkable job for us this past season as our director of basketball operations. He said it best during his interview with the committee, 'I’ve been interning for seven years and I want a shot at applying what I have learned from my experiences.' It is time that Keith is given the opportunity to be on the road recruiting, building relationships and get us to the finish line," said head coach Carolyn DeHoff.
"He has also earned my confidence to teach and coach our players. Keith is relentless, resourceful and will work tirelessly to make our program a success. The collaborative efforts of Keith, Deanne (Stevenson) and Tom (Goehle) are exciting for our NDSU women’s basketball program."
A native of North St. Paul, Minn. (Concordia Academy H.S.), Dickhudt worked for five seasons under former NDSU coach Tim Miles and current head coach Saul Phillips as a student manager and graduate assistant manager before being promoted to video coordinator for the men’s basketball program.
"I have tremendous respect for Coach DeHoff and the program, as well as for the tireless work the entire staff and this department shows every day," said Dickhudt.
"NDSU and Fargo have given me many positive experiences and opportunities both academically and professionally. It is very easy for me to have passion for women’s basketball, Bison athletics, and the university as a whole. I look forward to my new role which allows me to show my Bison Pride every day and work extremely hard with everyone who has their hands on our program."
Dickhudt earned his bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a minor in coaching from North Dakota State in 2008 and his master’s degree in mass communications from NDSU in 2010.
While at NDSU, Dickhudt served as the youth basketball camp coordinator. He also worked as the assistant editor-in-chief and sports editor for university’s student newspaper, The Spectrum.
After leaving NDSU, Dickhudt spent the 2010-11 season as an assistant coach for the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith men’s basketball program. He was in charge of post players, video exchange, and assisting with recruiting and academics for the Lions.
