FARGO, ND - Fargo police aren't certain if an intoxicated man who entered a strangers apartment was intent on burglarizing the place or if it was a mistake.
But Danny Gable, 61, ended up in jail this morning. Sargent Bill Ahlfeldt says the apartment resident was awakened by his improvised burglar alarm.
"He had a make shift burglar alarm." Ahlfeldt said. "Placed a stepstool with empty beer cans in front of his door and was alerted when the beer cans and stepstool were knocked over by the individual entering the apartment. The door does have a lock but for some reason he was not locking it."
Police say the apartment resident discovered Gable in a closet and Gable then attacked him. Neighbors heard the commotion and called 9-1-1.
The two were still tumbling around in the hallway when officers arrived on scene. Both men suffered minor injuries.
Gable lives in the same building at 2525 15th street south but the two men do not know each other.
