FARGO, ND - Planning travel west of Fargo? Be ready for a change in weather.

A major winter storm is expected late Wednesday through early Friday across central and southern North Dakota.

It could dump 8 to 12 inches of snow from Bismarck to Jamestown, ND. National weather service forecaster Rich Kinney in Bismarck, ND, says it''''s likely parts of the region could have near blizzard conditions by tomorrow afternoon and evening.

A winter storm watch is posted for central and southern North Dakota starting Wednesday night. With warmer temps on the eastern side of the state, the storm is expected to produce rain in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota, with some snow mixed.

Stay turned to KFGO 790 AM for the latest developments on this storm.
