FARGO, ND - Technology was instrumental in helping law enforcement find the bodies of three Dickinson State university students.
Their jeep was found submerged in a stock pond in an alfafa field five miles northwest of Dickinson, ND. The women were last heard from in panicked calls made to two friends on cell phones late sunday night before the lines went dead.
Stark County Sheriff Clarence Tuhy says it was the tracking of those cell calls off a tower that narrowed the search area.
Tuhy says the pond was surrounded by high grass making it hard to see, expecially at night. Autopsies are planned.
