Bismarck, ND- North Dakota State University has permission to go ahead with a $32 million fundraising campaign to renovate and expand the Bison Sports Arena. The state Board of Higher Education approved the request Thursday. The renovation project includes a new basketball court, bleachers and practice gym, an indoor track, a new athlete weight training area and expanded locker rooms. Two new building entrances will be built. The arena's roof will be replaced and new heating and air conditioning equipment installed. The project is split into three construction phases, and NDSU says once it's started, it will take about two years to finish. The Bison Sports Arena is 40 years old.
