The 2012 training sessions have been set for the Fargo urban deer hunt.
FARGO – Training and certification for Fargo’s 2012-13 urban deer herd management program will be held 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 24 and 25, the Fargo Police Department announced Monday.
The program utilizes archery hunters to thin the deer herd. It’s run in conjunction with the Fargo Park District, North Dakota Game and Fish Department and the North Dakota Bow Hunter’s Association.
Participants must attend one training session and pass a proficiency test to be eligible to apply for a special archery permit from the Game and Fish Department.
Individuals interested in attending a training session should contact Jeff Hagel at the Fargo Police Department at (701) 241-1437 or e-mail Hagel at jhagel@cityoffargo.com.
Registered applicants will receive a packet of information about the training, testing and regulations of the program.
