Progress on building the new Forest River Farmers Elevator is so good, it could open sometime in March.  That's what Manager Greg Novak says.  Novak says the warmer winter accelerated construction.  Fire destroyed the old Forest River Farmers Elevator in September, two-thousand-eleven. Novak says the new elevator will be concrete, not the wooden, tin-clad facility it was before. Novak says construction's ahead of schedule.

All the concrete's poured.  Crews are doing the ancillary work on and around the new elevator structure. The new Forest River Farmers Elevator will have a capacity of 675-thousand-bushels and Novak says it'll be operational in late March, in time for spring planting. Forest River's in Walsh County, in northeastern North Dakota.
