Daniel "Pinto" Gunderson, the producer of the "Mike McFeely Show," explains why he plans to do every weekend this summer.
If you have listened to the “Mike McFeely Show” in the last couple week, you have heard about my love for movies. To me, the summer time is the best time for movies. It seems like most studios release the BIG ONE during the summer so they can draw a larger audience.
Since I have watched so many movies, I have become very picky on the ones I will go watch in theaters. A movie snob, if you will. I have a tough time being impressed by the highly promoted movies. Movies like The Avengers or Battleship are ones I approach with apprehension.
However, I have decided to give those, and more, a chance to impress me this summer. Every weekend this summer, I will be going to an opening weekend movie.
What I will do is explain what movie I went to, the plot of the movie, what I liked, what I disliked and whether it receives an F=Forget It or GO=Go! Every Monday, I will post a column on the movie I saw during the weekend.
Since I’m getting into this a week past one of the bigger movies to open this summer, The Avengers, I will be evaluating two for next week.
Here is the list of movies that I will be going to this summer from the beginning of May to the end of August:
May 11: The Avengers & Dark Shadows
May 18: Battleship
May 25: MIB: III
June 1: Snow White and the Huntsman
June 8: Prometheus
June 15: Rock of Ages
June 22: Seeking a Friend for the End of the World
June 29: Magic Mike
July 6: Savages
July 13: Ice Age: Continental Drift
July 20: Dark Knight Rises
July 27: Neighborhood Watch
August 3: The Bourne Legacy
August 10: The Campaign
August 17: The Expendables 2
August 24: Premium Rush
August 31: Lawless
Some of these release dates are subject to change, but that is the list for now. Should be a fun summer!
