FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A fire overnight damaged Red River Commodities at 501 42nd Street North, in the Fargo Industrial Park.
Firefighters responded shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday and found the birdseed manufacturing plant filled with heavy smoke. The building was in full operation and employees had evacuated the complex.
Fire Department Battalion Chief Lee Soeth said the blaze was contained to the inside of a large dryer used to process the seeds and ductwork used to exhaust heat to the outside. Firefighters had the fire put out quickly and then ventilated the smoke out of the building.
There were no injures reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Soeth said a damage estimate has not been determined.
